An Employee Portal for Attendance and Leave
Employees get a place to see their own attendance and raise leave requests. Administrators stop answering the same two questions every week.

The administrator becomes the help desk
Without a portal, every routine question routes through one person. How many days did I take last month? Was my Tuesday marked? Did my leave get approved? None of these are hard questions, but they arrive by message, one at a time, and each one interrupts whoever is holding the dashboard.
The trap is solving this with a full self-service HR platform — separate accounts for everyone, onboarding for a workforce that only needs two answers, and a support burden that lands right back on the same administrator.
How the portal fits in
Attendance still works the way it always did. The portal is an addition, not a replacement.
An administrator enables it
Portal access is a company-level setting on the Grow and Trust plans. You decide whether your organisation wants it on at all.
Employees open it in a browser
No app store, no install, no device storage argument. It works on the phone they already carry.
Routine questions answer themselves
Employees check their own attendance history and submit leave requests directly, instead of messaging an administrator.
What the portal covers
The portal exposes the information Timenox actually holds about an employee — its attendance and leave records — and deliberately nothing else.
Their own attendance history
Each employee sees their records and no one else's.
Leave requests
Raise a request against a configured leave type and follow its outcome. See leave management.
Browser-based access
Any modern phone, tablet or desktop browser. Nothing to install or update.
Administrator controlled
Enabled or disabled per company, so the rollout happens on your terms.
Not included: payslips, tax documents, document storage, performance reviews, recruitment, or a native mobile app. Those belong to HR and payroll systems, and Timenox does not claim to be one.
Transparency cuts both ways
Attendance systems are easier to trust when the people being recorded can see their own records. Giving an employee visibility of their own history turns a disagreement about a missing Tuesday into something both sides can look at, rather than something one side has to take on faith.
Employers remain the data controller for employee records. Our privacy and data protection and trust pages describe how those responsibilities are divided.
Who benefits most
Small HR and ops teams
One or two people supporting everyone else, who would rather not be a lookup service.
Distributed teams
Remote and hybrid employees who cannot walk over and ask. See remote attendance.
Shift-based workplaces
Retail, hospitality and clinics where leave requests arrive constantly and rotas change.
Related Timenox capabilities
The portal is the employee-facing side of the same system.
Employee portal questions
Which plans include the employee portal?
The employee portal is part of the Grow and Trust plans. It is enabled per company by an administrator, so turning it on is a deliberate decision rather than a default.
Do employees need to install an app?
No. The portal runs in a browser on any modern phone, tablet or computer. There is nothing to download from an app store and nothing to keep updated on your employees’ devices.
Is the portal required to mark attendance?
No, and this is worth being clear about. Marking attendance works without the portal — an employee scans the location QR code or opens their attendance link. The portal is for looking back at their own records and raising leave requests.
Can an administrator turn the portal off?
Yes. Portal access is a company-level setting. Organisations that prefer administrators to handle everything centrally can leave it disabled and use Timenox exactly as before.
Does the portal include payslips or documents?
No. Timenox is attendance and workforce management, not payroll or document management. The portal covers the attendance and leave information Timenox holds, and nothing it does not.
